The idea of taking a picture and getting paid never crossed my mind when I first started in photography back when I was in my teens. And yet not long after I had purchased my first film slr I was getting paid to have my photos featured in a local skateboard magazine. In a short amount of time I had earned the money back which I had saved to finance my first camera, and so the obsession began.

I acknowledge I was pretty fortunate to be able to shoot some incredible local skaters in my youth whilst we visited local spots and spent days rolling around. The feeling of surprise every time the film was due to be developed was a magic time. This period was a fundamental part in early experimentation and learning.

After a hiatus from photography in my twenties as I took different paths into studying and working in corporate jobs, I rediscovered my passion just as I was going through significant changes in my personal and professional life. This time I was all in.

From 2014 onwards I have been a professional photographer, I have covered editorial, advertising, food, people, small business, big business and everything in between. I still love the challenge that every shoot presents and enjoy working with clients to give my best in a collaborative approach.

I still really like to take pictures. This is what I am doing now and what I enjoy doing. I treat photography as my work but also my art. It’s a hobby but also a part of my lifestyle.
